More Reactions as a Catholic Priest Resigns his Priesthood

A priest from Uyo diocese is reported to have said that he is not surprised Rev. Fr. Patrick Edet resigned from the Catholic Church. According to reports, the former Bishop of Uyo Diocese, (now Archbishop of Calabar) had earlier prophesied so when he noticed that Patrick does not listen to genuine advice. He is quoted to have said: "If fr. Patrick Edet continues in this way he will destroy himself."

We may recall that Fr. Patrick Henry Edet, a popular Catholic Priest from the Catholic Diocese of Uyo, Nigeria, announced his resignation from the Catholic priesthood on the ground that the Church authorities are frustrating him. He said he wants to move on with his life outside the priesthood and serve God in a different capacity. Fr. Patrick, who made the announcement on the planet FM radio station Uyo said he is now Rev Patrick Edet.
